What We Collect

Classroom Connect App stores information that parents, guardians, teachers, and staff enter so class communities can share contact details privately. This can include account sign-in details, parent profile information, child names, optional birthday month/day/year, optional allergy information, class membership, school affiliation, and sharing preferences.

Children's Information

Children do not create accounts. A parent or guardian provides child information and controls what is shared. Birthday year is stored only for the parent's own reference and is never shown to other users. Allergy information is optional and shared only when the parent turns that sharing on.

How Sharing Works

Class members can see directory information for people in the same class according to each person's sharing settings. School-wide parent visibility is off by default and requires an explicit profile setting. We do not sell personal information or use advertising trackers.

Service Providers

The app uses Supabase for database and authentication, Vercel for hosting, Google Places for school lookup during class creation, and Google or Apple only when a user chooses those sign-in providers.

Your Choices

You can edit your profile, child information, and sharing settings from the app. You can deactivate your account, export your data from/api/me/export, or schedule permanent deletion from your profile. Permanent deletion has a 72-hour cancellation window before data is purged.

Security and Retention

Access is limited by authentication and row-level database policies. Active account data is retained until the user deactivates or deletes the account. Deleted account data is purged from application tables after the grace period, subject to normal provider backup windows.
